Soil, which produces 10 times more carbon dioxide annually than all of mankind combined, might release a lot less CO2 than most global warming models predicted, says Cornell University Professor Johannes Lehmann.
Lehmann and colleagues measured carbon in content in Australian soil and found much more than expected, meaning the land is releasing about 20 percent less carbon to the atmosphere than scientists had thought. Since soil carbon dioxide emission is calculated into global warming models, Lehmann's finding could have broad implications in predicting the impact and pace of global warming.
Maybe we SHOULD pave paradise and put up a parking lot ... we might just save the Earth. hehe
Another silly thing from Old Pueblo newsmedia. What time does the big yellow taxi arrive, B. Poole?
Anyway, here's an okay site
NB: There's a Tucson/UA connection there that one would think would drive moneygrubbing Old Pueblo media out their minds with material to present to you...
