Review: Kingfisher

Midtown seafood mainstay is one of Tucson's best restaurants

No mention of eel in this piece by Stauffer. Not even Mediterranian eel, but that's okay: barf.

Go figure contemporary journalism when it's the coldest eel, the delicious Peruvian eel you actually crave the most, that there is no mention of the heart healthy menu in this remarkable review...

How're the safety inspections at this place?

Used to go. Then had a miserable experience one time and will never go back. Like most Tucson "traditions", this place is totally over-rated. Same with all the Southside combo plate slop houses.

Still go; I've eaten there a time or two (hundred). The seafood is always terrific and, if you so desire, they'll put the sauces on the side so you can decide just how much you want (and bring you more if you like). Had a regular meal (burger) for lunch and the etouffe for dinner on Fat Tuesday. The food and the service were great. So far, in the many meals I've eaten there, nothing made me want to eel over.
