WHAT: Mariachi and Baile Folklorico Workshops
WHERE: Tucson Convention Center
REGISTRATION: For registration information, please contact Lolie Gomez, Conference Coordinator, at (520) 884-9920 ext. 243. Students are invited to sign up for traditional classes taught by professional Mariachi musicians and Folklorico instructors. Each year 100 workshop scholarships are awarded to students nominated by their schools. Scholarship applications are available at local school offices.

WHERE: Tucson Convention Center Music Hall
WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHAT: The Mariachi Espectacular Concert
WHERE: The Tucson Convention Center Arena
WHEN: 7:30 p.m.

Headlining the most popular names in Mariachi, the Mariachi Espectacular Concert is designed for an in-the-round performance so everyone will enjoy a breathtaking experience. The Bank One Tucson International Mariachi Concert is proud to announce one of Mexico's favorites Herencia Mexicana appearing for the first time at the Espectacular Concert.
Saturday, April 28
WHAT: The Fiesta de Garibaldi
WHERE: Armory Park, South Sixth Ave. and 13th Street Downtown Tucson
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Fiesta de Garibaldi is a traditional re-creation of the Garibaldi Plaza in Mexico City featuring food, game booths, Mariachis and Baile Folklorico dancers -- an event for the whole family. Anticipated attendance is more than 50,000.
WHAT: Mariachi Mass
WHERE: St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave.
WHAT: Art Exhibit
WHERE: Armory Park
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Art Exhibit features highly skilled artists exhibiting their Hispanic and Southwestern art.
PROCEEDS: Proceeds benefit The Child/Family Center at La Frontera. The Center offers child care, preschool and summer programs for special needs children as well as programs for at-risk youth and support groups for parents/caregivers of special needs children. La Frontera is a nonprofit community-based behavioral health center for residents of Southern Arizona.
