The Arizona Board of Regents is expected to approve a three-year contract extension and pay raise for UA baseball coach Andy Lopez.
Lopez, who has taken five of his seven teams to the postseason, would have his contract extended through June 30, 2013, and salary raised to $125,000 annually if approved this week.
Board of Regents' approval is required for multiyear employment contracts.
The board is also looking into an extension of UA volleyball coach David Rubio's deal until Dec. 31, 2011.
"I really like it here and always have," Lopez said. "I have received great support from the administration and from everybody in the community. This is where I want to be and where my family loves. I look forward to coaching here for a number of more years."
Lopez is 252-159-1 in seven years here. He took UA to the NCAA super-regional last year before losing at Miami in the finale of a best-of-three series.
UA has participated in two super-regionals and the 2004 College World Series, finishing fifth, since Lopez took over in 2002.
Lopez's salary could jump from $101,459, plus incentives. He would receive an extra $15,000 if the Wildcats won a national title. He would get $5,000 for a postseason appearance or $10,000 for a CWS berth. The baseball Wildcats open the season Feb. 21 at home against Sacramento State.
Rubio, who has coached 17 years at UA, could see his base salary increase from $93,058 to $95,000. Postseason appearances and additional success would add incentives to his contract.
During Rubio's stint, Arizona has had 12 teams appear in the NCAA Tournament with five Sweet 16 appearances.
