PHOENIX - A Phoenix woman was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, domestic violence and animal cruelty Tuesday afternoon after she allegedly put one of her children and a puppy in front of her boyfriend's moving pickup truck in an attempt to keep him from leaving her, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio alleged the children were being used as "pawns" in a domestic dispute.
Authorities say Lilliana Campo, 27, of the 4100 block of West Glendale Road, put her 3-year-old daughter in front of the pickup and then threw her 1-year-old child into the truck's cargo bed, trying to make the man stop the truck. Officials say when that didn't work, she threw the puppy under one of the truck's rear tires.
The man unknowingly ran over the dog, causing severe injuries, the sheriff's office said.
The puppy had to be euthanized at an emergency clinic due to the injuries.
Campo's two children were unharmed. Arpaio said they have been placed in Child Protective Services custody.
A witness at the scene pulled the children out of the truck, he said.
I know some daycare workers that are pretty nasty to their own kids (neighbors). So, they are no better. Makes me know that I will never put mine in a daycare, ever. No way.
I have seen some "parents," usually female; mistreat their children in public. I have seen Mom's yell at their little children, push them into vehicle's, hit them, after they have been at this center almost 10 hours!!
It's not surprising to me that a generation of abused, ignored, neglected, and un-loved children are emerging who are depressed, sad, angry, and hostile! This woman must not have care or custody of her children 'UNLESS" she has recieved counseling, training, monitoring, and supervision(after she serves community service time) and becomes educated about being a parent! Maybe, she should never get her children back?!! Her kids are endangered at this point.
I shudder, thinking about all the children in Tucson, who have witnessed the death of their little pets or see their parents engage in acts of violence> screaming and yelling> fearful nights, soo sad they must be in these environemnts. It must take a village, to help those so much in need of protection and love!
